Welcome to The Take My Hand Foundation

At The Take My Hand Foundation, we are dedicated to providing vital mental health resources and support to first responders and healthcare professionals. Founded by a veteran and former first responder, our organization was born out of a deep understanding of the unique challenges faced by individuals in high-stress professions. Having experienced the impact of trauma and mental health struggles firsthand, we are committed to creating a safe and supportive community for those who dedicate their lives to serving others.

Our Mission

Our mission is to bridge the gap in mental health services for first responders and healthcare professionals by offering accessible resources, peer support, and educational programs. We believe that mental wellness is equally as important as physical wellness, and we strive to foster a culture that prioritizes mental health care alongside professional responsibilities. Through advocacy, outreach, and collaboration with mental health professionals, we aim to inspire meaningful conversations about mental health and combat the stigma surrounding it.

Who We Are

My Name is Matthew and I am the Founder and Director of The Take My Hand Foundation. I am a veteran Army Paratrooper and prior first responder. I have suffered at the hands of mental health trauma and had no clue where to turn. I know all too well the trials and tribulations that first responders and healthcare professionals have to endure in the course of their duties.

I started this foundation to help support those who are in need of holistic mental health resources, and to work towards de-stigmatizing mental health related injuries.

I foresee a future where mental health is no longer stigmatized as it is now and a world where mental health resources are available to all.
